Can you believe Abidjan is the third largest French speaking city in the world (Behind Kinshasa (1st) with 12.1M people and Paris (2nd) with 10.9M people. Abidjan is also 4 times bigger than Paris!!! It is known as the NYC of West Africa due to the fact that this city never sleeps remaining a hive of activity come day or night.
There is always a good reason to party and the ‘’maquis’’ (little popular Bar/Restaurant) is the place to gather and socialise. Culture is an important aspect in the life of its residents, Mehdi could experience the ‘’coupé décalé’’ and the ‘’zouglou’’ culture in the different ‘’maquis’’ that he visited and it’s happening literally 7 days out of 7..there is always people ready to meet and party…Basically, every day that ends in a Y, is a good day to party.
Ivory Coast has experienced major business growth after stability returned following political and civil conflict and turmoil between 2002 and 2011.
The GDP grew by 7.8 percent in 2017 and will increase by an average of 7.1 percent by 2019. Unfortunately Political stability appears increasingly fragile in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election but we live in hope of continuous prosperity and growth in this vibrant region.
